Drug Court Programs for Drug Offenders in the Chicago Area

The Illinois Drug Court program is operated within the State's criminal court system and is designed to provide drug-addicted defendants, charged with a non-violent felony, with the treatment, counseling, support, and resources needed to recover from drug addiction. Selectees agree to participate in treatment, counseling, frequent and regular drug testing, regular court appearances, and otherwise abide by all program rules. Drug Court programs are rigorous and intense, and successful completion takes determination and commitment. But, the pay-off is huge. Drug Court program graduates may have the criminal charges pending against them dismissed, or their sentence reduced or eliminated. More importantly however, successful participants leave the program with the skills needed to live a life free from addiction.

Your application for Drug Court participation requires approval of both the court and the prosecutor. You are not eligible for Drug Court if you:

  • Are charged with a violent crime
  • Have been convicted of a violent crime within the past 10 years, excluding incarceration
  • Deny you are drug addicted
  • Are unwilling to participate in the program and meet its requirements

Our attorneys know drug addiction can wreak havoc on your life. Drug dependency often results in alienation of family and friends, financial devastation, and the commission of crimes that have life-long consequences.
